Indian Butter Chicken




Preparation Time - 20 Min
Cooking Time - 20 Min
Serve - 4

Ingredients :

  • 250 gm Boneless Chicken (Breast Piece)
  • 1 tomato (minced)
  • 2 Onions (minced)
  • 1 tbsp oil,butter or ghee
  • 2 tbsp of Cilantro/Coriander Powder
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp ginger (mince)
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp garam or chicken masala
  • 1 pinch kasuri methi
  • 3 tsp of cream or cashew paste
  • Salt acc to taste
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • Handful of coriander leaves for garnishing.



How to make butter chicken In Indian style -
  • Add butter, oil or ghee In a pan and fry onion until they get golden brown.
  • Add garlic, coriander, chilli powder, salt, turmeric and garlic.
  • Fry the mixture until a pleasant smell comes out of It.
  • Add the tomato paste and cook for 4-5 min until the mixture bubbles out uniformly.
  • Add milk, Kasuri methi and chicken(cubed).
  • Cook It for 8-10 min until the chicken is soft. And cover It. Check It once or twice In between and stir it occasionally. Keep flame on sim .
  • When chicken is cooked soft , open lid and cook It for further 2 min. If gravy get thick, then add on with little water and stir It.
  • When you are done, then add chicken or garam masala & the cream or the cashew paste.
  • Remove from fire, adjust the salt and garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Serve It hot with Naan or Tawa roti , Plain Rice or Jeera Rice.
