Steamed & Fried Veg Momos



One of my reader has requested this recipe. So today we are going to make Momos at home. 
I'he tried to make both (Steamed & Fried) as per your choice with Its hot Red Sauce.

Ingredients

For Dough -

  • 1 Cup Maida (All Purpose Flour)
  • Salt for taste
  • Water for making dough

For Filling -

  • 1 Cup Mushroom(Sliced)
  • 2 Onions (Finely Chooped)
  • 1 Cup Cabbage (Chopped)
  • 1 tbsp Ginger garlic Paste
  • 1/2 tsp Pepper
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • Ajinomoto (Optional)
  • 1/2 Slices Capsicum 
  • 1 tbsp Soya Sauce

Spicy Red Dippy for Momos -

  • 4 Small Cherry Tomatoes
  • 3 Red Chillies
  • 1 tsp Garlic (Chopped)
  • 1 tsp Ginger (Chopped)
  • 1 tsp Oil
How to make Steamed & Fried Momos -

  • Take flour and salt Into a bowl. Pour some water and make the dough Soft as possible.
  • Chop down all the vegetables and keep them aside

  • Now take a pan, Pour some oil and fry Ginger and Garlic paste In Oil.
  • Add all the vegetables to the pan and stir them occasionally until the vegetables are tender. 

  • Season the mixture with Soya sauce , Ajinomoto, Pepper & Salt and mix It properly. Cook for 3-5 minutes then keep It aside In a bowl to let It cool for filling.

  • divide the dough Into equal parts for steamed and fried momos as well. 
  • Take one ball and spread It thinly with the help of some all purpose flour. 
  • Take a spoon full of filling and keep It on the flat dough. 
  • Fold It in half and twist all the edges and continue sealing until you get the desired shape.
  • See your momos are ready for Steaming or Frying.
  • For making Steamed momos, Apply oil by finger on sides of momos and put them on Idli stand and allow It to steam In a Cooker for 5-7 mins until steamed well.
  • For Making the Fried ones, Heat Oil In the deep frying Pan, Drop momos 2 or 3 at a time and fry them until they are golden brown. Drain them on Tissue paper.

  • Momos are served with hot and Spicy chutney. take a frying pan and pour 1 tsp of Oil. Fry Garlic, Red Chillies and Tomatoes all together. Add salt for taste. Remove the pan from the heat and grind all the fried Ingredients to form a Paste. Your Dipping Is ready to serve with Steamed and Fried Momos. 
Serve these hot Momos with the hot and spicy dipping.
